My Buzz
Learning new things is what makes me Buzz and running my own business certainly ticks all the right boxes. I am lucky to live in a stunning location that inspires my creative side. There is nothing better than sitting in my garden looking at the nature and landscape around me with my sewing machine in front of me producing a new design. I cant thank my friends, family and customers enough for the support they continue to show me. The buzz of winning Small Business Sunday was overwhelming and by winning #SBS I will now, hopefully, meet lots more friends.
My Bio
Starting from a little shed in the grounds of the croft several years ago and following in the footsteps of Highland crafts men and women before her, Claire Ferguson, founder of Scotsburn Croft began designing and making a range of fashion accessories.
Her inspiration came from growing up in the Highlands of Scotland, an area full of beautiful landscapes, real family and community values and people not “feert of a bit of hard graft”.
Today the Scotsburn Croft brand has grown to become the “home of the croft collection” showcasing a range of fashion accessories, ceramics and home furnishings all handmade and incorporating innovative designs with bold and breath-taking colours inspired by the Highland landscape.
From Tweed Overnight Bags to Tartan accessories, handmade cushions and bespoke ceramics Scotsburn Croft can truly bring a “little piece of Scotland” to all its customers.
My Business Tips
Have a clear Business Plan and set of goals but accept that it might change as time goes on. Be realistic about them and change them if you need to.
Ask people to help you, you are not on your own and people are more than willing to share information to help others.
Be prepared to work hard. Its not a walk in the park but it is hugely rewarding in many different ways.
Make it as much fun as you can and greet each day as a new one. Sometimes you need to forget the day before :-)
