My Buzz

To summarise Nibble N Often, is a premium gift box full of bite sized, non-clinical snacks that can be enjoyed little and often. Our main aim is to help people who struggle to eat, whatever illness, however our feedback suggests the boxes are brilliant to help people who are struggling with Dementia and undergoing chemotherapy.

Nibble N Often has been made to be more of a gift idea. It is so difficult to buy someone a gift when they’re poorly, normally flowers are the first choice but Nibble N Often makes gifts more enjoyable and also beneficial. The product is not just for people who are poorly but for anyone over the age of 13 who is struggling to eat in general. Nibble N Often has been made so it reflects a little bit of light when times may feel dark. My story of how I suffered with eating and my family is also on the box to show people they’re not alone. The majority of the snacks are vegan, vegetarian, dairy free, gluten free and organic. They are designed so they are high in fats, carbohydrates and all the essential nutrients. We also stock more quirky products which are not found in high street retailers. Nibble N Often is a high quality product with premium snack content.

Nibble N Often largely caters for people with allergies for example, it is the perfect gift for people are Vegan, Vegetarian, Dairy Free, Gluten Free and struggle to find enjoyable snacks. We also take pride in organic produce.

Many people buy these gift boxes as a present for someone who struggles to buy nutritious snacks with allergies, for parents who want to introduce healthy snacking from a young age, or just as an beautiful gift idea.

My Bio

y name is Emily Barge I am 21 years old and I am the soul director of my company Nibble N Often, as seen on BBC 3!

The whole idea started when my mum was diagnosed with cancer. She went through so much chemotherapy it affected her appetite massively. We tried so hard to make her meals to her fancy but nothing ever worked. I started to leave bitesize snacks by her bedside and I noticed that as each day went by the bowl was empty. After a few days I noticed a huge difference in my mum, she felt more comfortable and I could see more life in her eyes. When mum was diagnosed with cancer I also became very poorly. I was diagnosed with anorexia. When mum died 3 years ago, I had to go into hospital as I was so underweight. The issue for me was I couldn’t control how my mum was dying so I turned my attention to controlling my food intake. After I was discharged from hospital, my dietician told me to eat little and often. Like mum, I used to snack on bitesize snacks every so often which lead to me eventually have a healthy relationship with food again.

I analysed the weight gain market and it was extremely clinical. The market for weight loss is huge compared to weight gain. This is when Nibble N Often was born!

I am trying so hard to make the best out of my past and make a real difference. I do regular public speaking to inspire the younger generation to never let your dark times affect your ambitions.

My Business Tips

Setting up my own business from a young age was definitely a challenge. Despite Nibble N Often trying to make a difference to people's lives; some were very negative about me setting up a business whilst at University. The best business advice I can give is to believe in the people around you and most importantly, believe in yourself! Anything is possible when you put your mind to it.
