I worked with Theo Paphitis when he set up Small Business Sunday (#SBS for short) and knew instantly that it was a foresighted initiative. I was thrilled to join the exclusive club of like-minded social business entrepreneurs.

Tina Fotherby is a PR expert with considerable experience gained from working in consultancies and in house. Before entering the PR industry she was a researcher for what is now the UK’s largest sports industry intelligence service. She runs her own business – Famous Publicity – that helps people with very big ideas who are making the world a better place. She is supported by two team members - George Murdoch and Marilyn Nelson. Prior to setting up her new consultancy, Tina worked for four years in-house at Ryman, the stationery firm, where she was Director of PR for the stationery brand and publicist for the company’s Chairman, Theo Paphitis. While working for the high profile businessman and TV ‘Dragon’, Theo launched his Boux Avenue Lingerie brand and acquired the homewares retailer Robert Dyas. Tina handled all PR around the acquisition and managed corporate PR for all of Theo’s business interests. Tina has a strong affinity with entrepreneurs who make a valuable contribution to society. While running The YES Consultancy, which she founded, she nailed the sponsorship of a large scale medical expedition, Caudwell Xtreme Everest. The businessman and philanthropist John Caudwell donated £500k to the successful initiative. Prior to that, amongst other things, Tina and her team managed publicity for the Pink Lady Apples, taking the fruit from a virtual unknown variety to one of the UK’s most popular choices. Her work involved the Pink Lady Atlantic Row which saw brand awareness rocket, gaining exceptional momentum. She is passionate about nature, coaching, development plus business and practices what she preaches. She is currently enjoying a Key Person of Influence Course (KPI) that is business course with top coaches and a proven methodology. Tina has considerable expertise in the following areas: Brand and product PR Corporate PR Entrepreneurialism & business Food, drink & travel Personality PR Coaching, training and development

My business tips to share 1. Choose to work with the best people, as you will learn from others. 2. Under pressure, think long term, not short term. You can then take practical steps to reach the long term goal. 3. Set an intention for each working day and every meeting. 4. Continue to invest in training, development and learning new things because you will continue to be flexible in your thinking.
