Overnight I had over 100 new followers and was immediately introduced to some very influential figures

My Bio

I've always loved adventure and creation and after working in the travel business and working as a florist, I started my company in 1995 with a small budget and a mind full of creative ideas from the kitchen table. My early days were spent making bespoke cards and wedding stationery which became very successful.

I was commissioned to make a card for the Queen (which later went on display in Buckingham Palace Mews) and was a regular supplier to Harvey Nichols. By the late 90's I realised her true passion was gift wrapping and after doing my teaching training, decided to start my own gift wrapping courses.

The hobby has now turned in to a full time business with clients travelling worldwide to attend our workshops throughout the UK. Known as the ‘Gift Wrap Guru' my portfolio includes services for Harrods, House of Fraser, Lakeland, Mappin and Webb, Marks & Spencer, American Express, Crabtree and Evelyn, Dior, Chanel and Ralph Lauren to name a few.

Other than the Gift Wrapping School, we have also provided a luxury gift wrapping service for Selfridges, Dior, Ralph Lauren, Chanel, Banana Republic, The White Company, H+M, St. Pancras and Country Living.

I've worked for Dior throughout Europe, wrapped a gift for the Queen, worked at Highgrove and personally gift wrapped for various celebrities (I won't disclose names!).

Based in London and Lincoln, I travel nationwide running private courses in ones home and workplace, in addition to our own workshops based around the UK. I'm is now a demonstrator to clubs, galleries and at national charity events, exhibitions and trade events.

We have been featured in many glossy magazines and national newspapers. The Couture pop up Wrapping Shop in Covent Garden was voted 'Shop of the Week' by the Times, and our Easter Egg wreath won the House Beautiful Editors' Choice.

I have appeared on The Paul O'Grady Show, Alex Polizzis Christmas Fix on BBC2 and judged the 'Gift Wrapper of the Year' final live on This Morning and The Richard and Judy show as well as appearing on various BBC and ITV programmes. I currently do a regular radio slot for BBC Lincolnshire reviewing the morning newspapers and discussing current affairs, as well as being a guest on other radio stations including Radio 2 and Radio 5 Live.

I have a dedicated team and I now designs my own ribbon collections, which are featured regularily in the press and are sold online and wholesale. The well recognised ribbons can be found in stores including Liberty and Fortnum and Mason.
I also launched my first DVD in 2011 called 'The Art of Gift Wrapping' which has been featured heavily in the press and on BBC Radio 2 with Simon Mayo and Jeremy Vine, and I am currently writing my first bookend live in London with my husband.

My Business Tips

Know what your customers want and who your market is. Grow your business slowly by trial and error and use your mistakes as a learning curve. Social media is a must as it is a great way to interact with customers, your local community, press and fellow businesses. Customer service is a huge part in my industry and I did a diploma in it to ensure my customers get the best service, and if they are let down we will look after them.
