Since my #SBS win last night, I've had a massive increase in followers, and lots of visits to my online shop! I was amazed at all the lovely tweets I received from other #SBS winners, and look forward to exploring all their businesses soon.
My name is Madi; I'm an illustrator, and live in a little town in the depths of Dorset. I create illustrations which I sell in my little online shop as prints, greeting cards, and a range of pretty illustrated gifts, so that it's possible for anyone to add a little touch of illustrated loveliness to their world. You'll find items in my shop that are suitable for all ages; including copies of my own illustrated children's picture book, entitled 'I'm A Little Bit Scared Of...' for the little ones!
My illustrations incorporate collage and mixed-media techniques, and include all kinds of different papers, fabrics and textures, often with the addition of playful hand-drawn typography. I have created work for a number of magazines, including Amelia's Magazine and Lionheart Magazine, and a piece of my hand-drawn typography was recently included as one of the winning entries in Communication Arts' Typography Annual 2013.
My work is often inspired by childhood themes, woodland creatures, monsters and my enormous found paper collection, which includes everything from magazines and old envelopes to wallpaper samples and paper doilies.
I am always available for commissions and collaborations, so please feel free to contact me if you have an idea or project you'd like to discuss with me. I look forward to hearing from, and hopefully working with, you.
