The Silicone Straw Company has recently been shorted listed for two categories as part of the Giftware association’s Gift of the Year Awards 2023! The start-up company based in the Yorkshire Dales is founded by Charlotte (an engineer and mum of three) who designed and developed her products after becoming frustrated with the amount of waste and single-use plastic in her everyday life!
The first of the two categories shortlisted is the Ethical and Sustainability Category and her straws are alongside some well know household brands! The second category is the Under £15 Category. With consumers trying to become more sustainable and everyone looking for ways to save money these two categories are a perfect fit for the company, its values and company values.
The Silicone Straw Company is mission is to save the planet, one soggy straw at a time, and over the last 3 years has stopped over 2 million single use straws from entering landfill.
The next stage of Judging will take place at Spring Fair in February 2023. Theo Paphitis will also be attending this event and speaking onstage on the Inspiring Retail Stage on Tuesday 7th February.
