My Buzz

"We are honoured to be a part of the #SBS community and it is great that one of the biggest names in business supports UK Small Businesses and Entrepreneurs”.

“ As well as winning #SBS we have also recently been awarded investment to develop the website further, increase sales and grow our customer service team. We are geared up to become the UK’s go to website for all things, reclaimed, antique and upcycled before the year is out and we are very much looking forward to what’s to come.”

My Bio

Officially Launched in October 2014 The Reclamation shop is the world’s first online market place for reclaimed, salvaged, up-cycled and antique goods with over 250,000 hits to the website each month. The new and unique website allows users to view and buy items from some of the largest and most well-established reclamation, salvage and antique yards in the country and locate ‘hidden gems’ before even leaving their home.

Matthew Flint the Owner has founded and grown three other successful businesses throughout his ten years in business and he believes that the recent renaissance of all things ‘pre-loved’ will see his most recent venture become equally as successful.

My Business Tips

1. Be Organised
To be successful in business you need to be organised. Organisation will help you to complete tasks and stay on top of things to be done. One way our team achieves this is by creating a to-do list each day - as we complete each item, we check it off our list. This ensures that we don't forget anything and completing all the tasks that are essential to the survival of our business.

2. Keep Detailed Records
From experience most successful businesses keep detailed records. By keeping detailed records, we know where the business stands financially and what potential challenges we could be facing. Just knowing this gives us time to create strategies to overcome the obstacles that can prevent us from being successful and growing our business.

3. Be Creative
We are always be looking for ways to improve our business and to make it stand out from the competition. We recognise that we don't know everything and are open to new ideas and new approaches to our business.

4. Stay Focused
The old saying that "Rome was not built in a day" applies here. When you open a business doesn't mean that you're going to immediately start making money. It takes time to let people know who you are, so stay focused on achieving your short-term goals and give the rest time to come together on its own.

5. Provide Great Service
As you are probably aware, there are many successful businesses that forget that providing great customer service is important. If you provide better service for your customers, they'll be more inclined to come to you the next time they need something instead of going to your competition.

6. Be Consistent
Consistency is key component to making money in business. We/you have to consistently keep doing the things necessary to be successful day in and day out. This will create long-term positive habits that will help us/you make money over the long term.
