My Buzz

#SBS has really raised my profile and helped to generate more interest in my company, ultimately resulting in more orders from my website and commissions. It's a fabulous network of people that I am very proud to be part of and I look forward to seeing it grow!

My Bio

I have always had a passion for jewellery and started by making pieces using beads. After taking a foundation course in Art & Design, I went on to take a degree course in Jewellery & Metalwork at Buckinghamshire Chilterns University College and graduated in 1999. I worked for several jewellery companies since graduating, including the Signet Group, but in 2009 I decided to start Mila Jewellery and work on my own designs.

I live on the Norfolk / Suffolk border and I take a lot of my inspiration from nature and my surroundings. I am lucky to live in such a beautiful part of the country and have access to such wonderful scenery and beaches as inspiration.

All my jewellery is handmade in my own workshop. I sell my pieces online from my own website as well as on Etsy and Folksy, and I also stock a number of galleries around the UK. I enjoy using a range of materials to create my pieces. Some of my pieces are experimental and these are sold as one off pieces mainly at shows and craft fairs, and sometimes in the galleries that exhibit my work.

I am registered with the London Assay Office and so all my pieces are hallmarked where appropriate and stamped with my makers mark.

My Business Tips

Don't ever let anyone tell you that you can't do something! And if they do, make sure you prove them wrong!

Have passion for what you do, because that will come across in your work and your customers will notice that you have that something special.
