My Buzz

We are Architects and Designers passionate about sustainable design, and the wide positive impact it can have, for the Client, the end-users, the local neighbourhoods, and more. Whatever we’re designing, whether that’s housing, commercial premises, or even outdoor spaces, we like to create benefits for as many people as possible.

What is 'Sustainable Design'?? It’s about designing for short term benefits, but also looking towards the longer term – providing for future generations. We call it Planet; People and Prosperity. For example, specifying high levels of insulation into a scheme results in energy resources being more efficiently used (Planet benefits); energy bills being minimized, making financial savings (Prosperity); residents reaping the benefits of warmer environments in winter and reduced bills, (Happy people)!

My Bio

Denovo Design is an award-winning architectural practice, based in the quirky Tempest building, a collaborative ‘co-working space’ in Liverpool’s commercial district. We work locally and also UK wide, specializing in private luxury and affordable housing, and commercial design.

We are committed to design that works on many levels - looking beyond the 'bricks and mortar' to deliver buildings and spaces that really make a difference in terms of environmental specification, community interaction and lifestyle opportunities.

We were the first architectural practice in the UK to achieve NQA 'Sustainability Assessed' Accreditation (BS8900), in 2012, recognising this holistic approach to design.

In financially challenging times we have continued to innovate in order to maintain a quality product, often within tight cost constraints.

Our work in supported and affordable housing, commercial office spaces and conservation has, for a number of years, been recognised with awards, celebrating its good design, strong commitment to quality, and community and neighbourhood engagement.

To achieve all this we work with the latest technology, although we’re not averse, also, to using the more traditional ‘pencil’ and ‘pen’!

My Business Tips

Never stop learning, never stop evolving and have a collaborative ethos. Working together is the best catalyst for generation of new ideas, ironing out any issues, and for moving forward efficiently.
