My Bio

Welcome to Beauty Gallery, Lavenham. I am Mandy, the salon director and Electrolysis expert. I have been in the beauty industry for 45 years and am passionate about delivering good quality treatments to an exceptionally professional standard.
I am a sought-after therapist for Electrolysis treatments, the only proven method of permanent hair removal. I have been a member of the British Institute and Association of Electrolysis since 1975 not long after graduating college (back then it was known simply as the British Association of Electrolysis). I am also an active member of the Board since 2007, directing this professional body. I was Chairperson 2009-2012. Currently, I am the Editor of the members’ only magazine The Probe. I am also a Tutor for the association specialising in leading the Advanced Electrolysis course. I am a qualified adult education specialist available for consultant workshops for therapists looking to refresh their knowledge or build confidence in all Electrolysis treatments. I am also a recognised NHS Provider for Electrolysis hair removal for those on the transgender pathway.
When it comes to skin care I pride myself on my expertise in advising clients and providing results driven treatments. I have studied continuously including several professional workshops working with Dermatologists and other Medical Doctors to learn more about skin conditions. I also offer advanced skin treatments including Microneedling, Non-Surgical Facelift, Skin Peels and LED Light Therapy.
I use my Advanced Electrolysis skills extensively in the salon treating minor skin lesions for a wide range of people. I am an expert in removing skin tags, warts, verrucas, red veins, cherry angiomas, Campbell de Morgan spots, seborrheic keratoses, milia and others. I work closely with local GP surgeries and often get referrals for these minor cosmetic procedures.
I have had articles featured in local magazines and newspapers including Velvet and The Village Edition. I am always happy to contribute to local and national media to spread the word about how fantastic Electrolysis is.
Outside of the salon I am a proud grandma to four bouncy grandchildren who all live locally. I adore spending time with my family so it is fantastic that I get to work alongside my daughter. At home I tend to my garden, bake cakes and make jam like any other grandparent. I am supported at work and at home by my very talented husband Jim, who makes sure the laundry gets done, food is on the table, and any building needs are met. He has come in very handy decorating and maintaining the salon.
I am excited to share my dream salon with you. I have worked exceptionally hard to get where I am and am grateful to the many loyal clients who I have seen since I established the salon in 2001. We are located in an amazing village, surrounded by independent shops and a supportive atmosphere. I couldn’t ask for anything better.

I am Victoria, or Vicki, and am proud to be Mandy’s daughter. I am an experienced beauty therapist specialising in skin care, massage and natural nail care for hands and feet.
I have become sought-after for my pedicures, which I am very particular about. I am an advocate for proper foot care, and I focus on the health of my client’s feet and toes. Finishing with a good nail polish is fun but I often find client’s love the whole treatment and keep coming back for more regardless of polish. I have a growing number of male clients who have discovered the joys of a relaxing pedicure.
I am also popular for manicures, including those with gel polish. At the salon we don’t offer acrylics or other forms of nail extensions, but we do have a large client base who love their gel polish. As a trained Jessica nail expert, I am proud to offer professional services to tend your natural nails with and without gels, and I adore doing the luxury treatments recently launched in the salon. I have also completed workshops with Sam from the Nail Spa in Newcastle learning some fun techniques for gel nail art. My galaxy nails always get brilliant responses.
I am passionate about delivering amazing results in my facial treatments. I offer an extensive range of treatments including Skin Peels and Dermaplaning. I am a trained Dermaplaning specialist, having studied with Nicola from the Skin Geek in Glasgow. I offer this treatment as a standalone facial, or it can be incorporated into many other facials as an add-on depending on the products used. I am also finishing my professional studies in advanced facials so will also be able to offer many of the electrical facials by the end of 2020. I am excited about expanding my skill base. Mandy and I frequently consult on client’s skincare to ensure continued and effective results.
I am a specialist in aromatherapy massage and can offer pre-blended oils or I can customise a massage based on individual requirements. I am developing a customised range of aromatherapy products for my massage clients to use at home to gain maximum benefit of my treatments.
I am a true academic with a long history of further studies in several subjects. I have two Bachelor’s degrees in political science and was published in the American Public University System (APUS) History Journal in 2012. While at university in America, I became a member of the Golden Key International Honor Society, where I served as Secretary and Chapter President at APUS between 2010-2012. I’m also a proud holder of a Postgraduate Certificate in Ancient Myth and Society from Lampeter University; I’m a fully qualified Teacher of English as a Foreign Language and I’m a trained Nursing Assistant. Currently I am studying for a certificate in nutritional therapy to develop my knowledge on how to support a client’s skin from an internal standpoint.
I have been recognised locally for my extensive social media work for the salon featuring in local newspapers and have even been on Radio Suffolk. I have helped contribute to articles in Velvet magazine, publish regular posts on the salon blog and in 2018 was one of the Theo Paphitis (of Dragon Den’s fame) Small Business Sunday winners on Twitter. I helped the salon win local business awards from thebestof Sudbury, and the salon was recognised by the East Anglian Business Awards as one of the finalists.
Outside of the salon I am the proud mum to a very energetic preschooler, who often features in our social media! My husband Aaron is our very talented web designer and webmaster, and when we’re not talking about business we enjoy an evening out for good food, evenings on the sofa with Netflix and a box of chocolates, and adventures in the great outdoors.
