My Bio

Multi award-winning Shed 1 Gin. From Garden Shed to The Old Calf Shed!
We, Andy & Zoe, launched our micro distillery from our 7x7 foot Garden Shed. Creating artisan, classically-distilled, micro batch Gin, traditional strength Gin Elixirs and Gin Marmalade.

In 2019 we moved to The Old Calf Shed and began Cumbria's first and only Make Your Own Gin Experiences, as well as tours, tastings and a botanical-inspired Afternoon G&Tea. We are also a Licensed Wedding Venue!

We became Green Small Business certified in 2019 and won The Gin Guide's (Small Producer) Environmental Sustainability in 2020. We are committed to Net Zero by 2030, but have a plan to achieve it a lot earlier than that!

Our Marmalade Fund came about due to the fresh zest we use in our gins. We take the fresh citrus fruit, mix with botanicals and make Gin Jelly Marmalade (with an added splosh of gin). Part of every sale goes to charity as does sales from other products.

During the first lockdown we crowdfunded £6,500 and produced and gifted over 5,500 bottles of sanitiser across Cumbria. We continue to supply to those organisations and carers in need. We also produce a sanitiser you can buy and part of the sale goes to charity.

We're looking forward to reopening the Shed and welcoming customers and friends old and new. Cheers!

My Business Tips

Take time to celebrate all the wins. Even the ones that look small from the outside probably took a lot of work.
Ask for help and listen to advice, but remember it's ultimately up to you to run your business the way you feel is best and works for you.
