Be ahead of the game with social media and social networking, going to a shop and browsing for items will slowly disappear. Use and abuse every single available free advertising service. Also mystery shop rivals and 'borrow' good ideas and ditch bad ideas. Ask your customers for reviews and build great relationships with them. Have fun while doing it!
