I am an outsourced accounts department, working behind the scenes whilst you focus on what you do best. I keep businesses compliant and on top of their numbers. Services include bookkeeping, payroll, VAT, self assessment, training and support, budgeting and cash flow forecasts.
My first accounts based role was in the year 2000, where I learnt on the job and gained the AAT qualification. I held roles in the Construction Industry, then settled for 13 years working for a well known Travel Company, in the Management Accounts Department. My children were born in 2007 and 2008 and my oldest was diagnosed with High Functioning Autism in 2010. In 2018 he left Primary School with uncertainty if he would cope in Mainstream High School - a huge jump. I decided to set up my bookkeeping business and give myself the opportunity to have the flexibility of attending school meetings or medical appointments whilst making the time up in the evenings or weekends. Whilst self employed, it has opened up so many opportunities and realised I love supporting small businesses.
When starting in business, the first year could be very quiet. Mine was, and took a while to get going. Never give up - make yourself known.
Thinking about your ideal client and focus on finding them.
Keep on top of your finances - keep it up to date month on month. Otherwise you will never know how it is doing - or hire someone experienced in doing this.
Keep up to date with changes in legislation.
