My Bio

Hi, My business is Nuvue Glass Design by Claire Stuart. I am situated in the beautiful Lancashire countryside, specialising in producing unique fused and stained glass art.

I gained my Bachelor Of Arts degree with Honours in Architectural glass design at Wrexham university in 1996. I was lucky enough to have a mentor in Peter Gibson MBE, OBE, The founder of the York glaziers Trust.

Having diverted in to the world of interior design, I incorporated my glass making skills into my schemes in the form of stained glass, wall art, wall installations, accessories, mirrors, splashbacks dishes, free standing glass art, and now lighting too!

Stained glass, which is seen by many as an art from bygone times. Last year, this great craft was sadly added to the Heritage Crafts Association’s (HCA) Red List of Endangered Crafts 2023. The loss of skilled practitioners, the decline in educational courses, the lack of training and employment opportunities and the rising costs of materials and much more are all contributing factors to its decline.

I am passionate about contributing towards creating a renaissance for the survival of stained glass, not only through continuing to teach my skills but by Combining my love for glass making, interiors and accessories.

I love the idea of taking the unique qualities, style and effects that derives from recording my highly versatile, original stained glass works, and applying that image and theme to create a collection for Interiors, accessories, gifts and more!

I am proud to be contributing to towards keeping stained glass alive for future generations and transforming its beauty in to our every day lives!

Warmest Regards
Claire Stuart
