Teddo Play

I am Keisha, the yours-truly behind our much-loved children’s educational brand, Teddo Play.

I have various backgrounds in Education, Training, Corporate Training, Languages as well as Project Managing large thought-leadership projects for blue-chip organisations in the UK, USA, several countries in Europe, UAE & India.

I started working on Teddo Play back in 2017 when our little one came into our world and changed our lives forever! However, it was only at the end of 2019 that I launched Teddo Play, producing a variety of play-based learning resources for children of all ages. Teddo Play has received a number of mentions in national press and media, heard from the Prime Minister’s office, been live on TV on BBC News, recognised with industry awards as being the Best in Children's Development Products, also by the renowned entrepreneur Theo Paphitis as one of his small business winners, making my passion project a multi award-winning business in no time.

Running a business is no mean feat! You go from 9-5 to 24/7 and have to remain forever switched on, and all of this alongside raising a young family! These past 4 years  have been no walk in the park. It’s been a steep learning curve with filled with moments of extreme joy and extreme frustrations. My business has grown slowly as I didn’t want to have regrets in the future of not making the most of these very precious years with kids so the priority has been my little man which has actually paid off as he helps me out with the business big time these days!

I am passionate about all things learning and knowledge in a playful environment and the importance of giving accurate information to children especially in the early years when their brains are developing at such a rapid pace.

My current range includes educational sets, portable learning boards and other resources covering a variety of learning themes - Nature, Maths & Numeracy, Science, Geography, Space, Literacy & Vocabulary and so on.

In the pipeline are sets around Financial Savviness, Physics, Oceans, History, Emotional Well-being - the one around financial literacy is so far my favourite. The pace at which the world is moving, I think it is really important for our kids to get that handle on becoming smart with their financial knowledge and decisions and basically to use common sense!

I am also a SmallBusiness Champion in the UK contributing to research papers & government policy papers on topics around Entrepreneurship, Education, International Trade and Female Entrepreneurship as well as offering mentorship for University students to encourage access to entrepreneurial skills through participation in real-time projects.

You'll find me championing small businesses, always doing my best giving fellow small businesses shout-outs on socials, mentoring and sharing knowledge as well as collaborating and encouraging collaborations within the small business community in general.

I enjoy all things kids' development, knowledge and entrepreneurship.

I am a foodie by heart - I love to cook and feed delicious veggie meals. I also love sports, dance, music and hosting loved ones (I do get very competitive though - an outright Monica!)
