What an incredible achievement! Mairi Curle, franchisee of Boogie Beat Music and Movement Edinburgh, Mid and East Lothian has recently been named the EWIF New Woman Franchisee of the Year. After an amazing event held at the Royal Armouries in Leeds at the end of October 2024.

The NatWest EWIF (Encouraging Women into Franchising) awards recognise the achievements of women from large and small businesses across the UK.  This years events theme was Lighting the Way and honouring those igniting change, creating opportunities and empowering others to grow and thrive.

Earlier this year Mairi also won the prestigious FSB (Federation Small Business) Scottish Regional Franchise Business award. As winner of this award Mairi was put into the National FSB awards where she was then named National Franchise Business winner!

Mairi has had a fantastic year and it is lovely to see that she has received the recognition from the wider community. Mairi started her Boogie Beat franchise when she was struggling to be a primary school teacher whilst suffering from long covid. She needed a better work life balance, more flexibility and could be there for her children and family. Since purchasing her franchise Mairi has seen incredible growth due to her passion and determination. She now runs over 30 weekly classes, runs our popular intergenerational sessions and has built a strong birthday party business. Mairi has taken on a team to support her and we are excited to see what the future has in store for her business.
