I'm an illustrator. Not a web designer. Yet thanks to drag and drop web site building tools like Moonfruit and Wix, I've not been doing badly over the last few years. There's an ever expanding range of things I need to learn and know and impliment though. It's really rather time consuming. I don't want to be a full time web designer or SEO consultant, I just want to draw lovely pictures and let someone else take care of that side of it. Alas, things aren't that simple. Even if money were no object, which is sadly not the case, then there remains the fact that I'm not that great and verbalising my thoughts or delegating. I'm worried that I might end up being a terrible client, and all creatives have had their share of those. I want to make sure that once I've sorted out how I'd be able to afford something, I'd also like to know I'm hiring the right person at the right price and on top of that, I'd want to make sure I had a clear idea of what I wanted to achieve and how they were going to get there.
Until that miraculously happens I think I'll have to stick to drag and drop websites and doodling. 🙂
